About The Position

As a Security Officer - Gate Driver in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, where you will manage entry points, verify credentials, log visitors and deliveries, and support security-related screening and communication. You will stay visible, complete routine patrols of assigned areas, and help to deter incidents through professional presence and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, backed by a team that values integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Applicants must have 1+ years' law enforcement experience OR 2+ years' security supervisor/manager experience OR 3+ years' security experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and authorization, issuing and collecting badges and/or passes, managing visitor logs, and directing arrivals to the proper check-in process.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and delivery traffic by checking documentation, controlling gate operations, maintaining accurate logs, and reporting irregularities according to site policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying site contacts and/or emergency services as required and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, process areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, and report hazards or maintenance concerns through the appropriate channels.
