About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Gate Driver in Brookhaven, MS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location as an Access Control Officer. You will help manage entry and exit for employees, visitors, and deliveries, verify credentials, monitor activity, and complete reports using a computer and/or tablet while providing strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Bring integrity and teamwork to a caring, agile, and innovative team.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying identification, issuing badges, and directing arrivals to the proper location.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or checkpoints for employees, contractors, and deliveries, including documenting visitor and vehicle activity and supporting shipping and receiving traffic flow.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other access control systems, reporting irregular activity and completing required logs and incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and client policies and contacting the appropriate parties as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, yard, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
