About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Gate Driver in Deer Park, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will greet personnel and visitors, verify credentials, issue badges, and manage entry and exit points to help support smooth daily operations. You will stay visible, communicate clearly, and document security-related activity while delivering strong customer service. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license that meets Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing guests to the proper contact.
  • Screen and document inbound and outbound traffic including deliveries and service vehicles, checking paperwork and authorized access lists and/or appointments per site requirements.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, gates, and communication systems; report irregular activity, maintenance issues, and policy concerns to site leadership using required reporting methods.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, assisting with area control, and documenting actions taken.
