As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry points, and document activity to support security-related operations. You will stay visible, communicate clearly, and provide helpful customer service while following site procedures and escalating concerns as needed. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all visitors, contractors, and employees by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial chemical and/or petrochemical location.
  • Control access at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, authorizations, and appointments; issue and collect badges and/or passes as required.
  • Manage vehicle and pedestrian entry by directing traffic flow, checking deliveries, and coordinating with site contacts for approvals and/or escorts, helping to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting details, and assisting with site response protocols.
  • Complete shift logs and reports, monitor access control systems and alarms as assigned, and communicate unusual activity to Allied Universal supervision and/or site management.
