As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location, you will greet associates and drivers, manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and support visitor and package screening procedures. You will complete routine patrols, monitor activity, document incidents, and communicate clearly with site leadership to help reduce security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by checking identification and/or credentials, managing visitor and contractor sign-in, issuing temporary badges as directed, and documenting arrivals and departures.
  • Support yard and dock operations by verifying driver check-in details, coordinating with site contacts for inbound and outbound traffic, and helping to deter unauthorized entry or restricted-area access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, disturbances, and policy violations to appropriate site leadership and/or emergency services.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, monitor surveillance systems and alarms when assigned, and complete detailed activity logs and incident reports.
