As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail distribution location, you will greet associates and visitors, manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and help maintain orderly traffic flow. You will conduct routine patrols nearby, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a retail distribution and logistics location.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, verifying employee and contractor authorization, and maintaining accurate logs of people and vehicles entering and leaving the location.
  • Screen incoming and outgoing deliveries and trailers as directed, including verifying shipping documentation, coordinating with site contacts, and reporting irregularities according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services and documenting events in required reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility, dock areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
