Security Officer - Full-Time Retail Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Full-Time Retail Patrol in Elmont, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming atmosphere for visitors and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and deliver exceptional customer service, all while upholding our values of integrity, teamwork, and putting people first.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
- Observe and report any suspicious activities or incidents to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as required.
- Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points within the retail or mall location.
- Maintain a visible presence to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activities.
- Complete required documentation and reports related to daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences.
- Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and client staff to address security-related concerns and provide support as needed.
