About The Position

As a Security Officer - Full-Time Patrol in Gardendale, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy healthcare location, where you will conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support staff, patients, and visitors with courteous service. You will help manage access points, communicate clearly during incidents, and document activity using site systems. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with access control issues, disruptive behavior, and requests for support from clinical and administrative teams.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other building systems as assigned, documenting observations and reporting concerns to Allied Universal leadership and/or site contacts.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicate clearly during shift transitions, and participate in required trainings and drills per site procedures.
