About The Position
As a Security Officer - Full-Time Patrol Officer in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a shelter location where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will assist with access control and badge checks, document and report concerns, and deliver strong customer service through clear communication with staff, residents, and visitors. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR/First Aid is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Access control/badge experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, residents, visitors and/or staff by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support, contacting site leadership and/or emergency services, and documenting actions taken.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common areas, entrances, parking areas and perimeter checks to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity as assigned, including observing for unauthorized entry, verifying credentials when applicable and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Prepare complete and accurate reports on daily activities, incidents, observations and maintenance hazards, and communicate timely updates to supervisors, client representatives and/or local authorities as needed.
