Security Officer - Full-Time Patrol

Job Description As a Security Officer - Full-Time Patrol in Petersburg, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter incidents, and support access control and other security-related procedures. You will respond to alarms, document activity, and communicate clearly with on-site teams while delivering customer-focused service. Requirements
- Have at least 1+ years of security experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Have customer service experience preferred.
- Have CPR and/or First Aid preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of interior and exterior areas, including parking lots, lobbies, loading areas, and building perimeters, as required by post orders.
- Monitor access points and perform security-related screening duties such as checking identification, managing visitor sign-in, issuing badges, and directing deliveries to designated areas.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with alarms, access control concerns, and requests for support from site personnel.
- Complete required documentation such as shift activity reports, incident reports, and patrol logs, and communicate observed hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or policy issues to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
