As a Front Desk Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will be the first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors, supporting a welcoming environment while handling access control, visitor check-in, and routine logging. You will respond to calls and incidents, communicate clearly with site teams, and help identify and report security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff the front desk by greeting and directing visitors, answering phones and/or radio traffic, and assisting with general inquiries while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Help to control access by verifying identification, issuing visitor passes when required, and maintaining visitor and key control logs per site policy.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and/or other monitoring systems from the front desk and report unusual activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate personnel as required.
