As a Front Desk Security Officer at a busy utilities location, you will be the welcoming first point of contact, helping to manage access, greet visitors, and support badge and visitor check-in processes. You will monitor activity from the lobby using computer-based tools, communicate clearly with site teams, and document security-related observations. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or vendors by following site-specific access control procedures at the front desk of a utilities location.
  • Monitor lobby activity and available security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and/or visitor management tools, reporting unusual conditions per post orders.
  • Issue and collect visitor credentials per policy, verify identification and/or appointment information, and maintain accurate logs and reports.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying the appropriate internal contacts and/or emergency services when directed.
  • Support Allied Universal account leadership with administrative duties such as answering phones, routing calls, coordinating deliveries, and documenting security-related activities and observations.
