About The Position

As a Security Officer - Foot Patrol Rover in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a fast-paced tech and media location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will greet and assist employees and visitors, communicate clearly, and document noteworthy activity while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, and always acts with integrity and care.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to the client and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a tech office location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas and perimeter access points; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access control points and visitor flow, help to deter unauthorized entry and/or tailgating, and direct guests, vendors and employees according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, fire alarms, suspicious activity and/or policy violations, and notify the appropriate contacts.
  • Complete detailed reports and daily activity logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
