Join Allied Universal at a busy transportation location where you will support access control by welcoming employees and visitors, verifying credentials, managing sign-in procedures, and monitoring entry points and cameras. You will complete routine patrols of assigned areas, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with site teams to help reduce unauthorized access. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Control access at gates, guard shacks, and/or entry points by verifying identification, credentials, and authorization for entry to rail yard, terminal, and transportation facility areas.
Screen and log inbound and outbound vehicles, deliveries, and equipment; direct drivers to designated routes, staging, and/or check-in locations per site procedures.
Maintain detailed access control records, including visitor logs, vehicle logs, key and badge control documentation, and incident documentation, using handwritten logs and/or electronic systems.
Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other communications for unusual activity; report concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision in a timely manner.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including access disputes, trespass concerns, and/or suspicious activity near restricted rail operations areas.
Conduct regular and random patrols around designated buildings, rail yard perimeters, parking areas, and other assigned locations to help to deter unauthorized access and/or policy violations.
Support transportation and rail operations by maintaining clear communication with dispatch, yard personnel, and/or facility management during shift activities and changing conditions.
Comply with all site rules, applicable regulations, and Allied Universal post orders, including proper use of radios, personal protective equipment requirements as directed by the location, and reporting expectations.
