As a Screener at a government location, you will help support a controlled entry process by welcoming visitors, screening people and belongings, and operating walk-through and X-ray equipment as needed. You will stay visible, observe for unusual activity, communicate clearly with staff and the public, and document security-related concerns. Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and contractors at a government location by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate walk-through metal detectors, hand-held wands, and X-ray equipment as assigned, and conduct bag and property inspections in accordance with posted rules and site requirements.
  • Control access by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, directing visitors to authorized areas, and helping to maintain orderly entry lines and screening queues.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications to site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Document screening activity, incidents, and unusual conditions in written logs and reports, and communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and site personnel.
