As a Security Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access control and badge checks, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will complete routine rounds, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while providing strong customer service. Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and security-related systems such as cameras, alarms, and radios, and assist with controlled entry, visitor check-in, and badge and/or key control as directed by site policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, medical response notifications, and coordinating with site leadership and public emergency services as needed.
  • Complete security-related reports and activity logs, document incidents accurately, and communicate observations and/or hazards to site representatives while maintaining confidentiality requirements.
