As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government human services location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and support a professional, welcoming environment. Requirements

  • MUST HAVE VALID AND CURRENT CA. GUARD CARD & TRAINING CERTIFICATES!
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, clients, and staff at a government human services location by following site-specific security-related procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, public service areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or security-related concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site management and/or local public responders as needed.
  • Monitor entry points and interior areas, verify identification and/or appointments when required, and direct visitors to appropriate service counters or waiting areas in accordance with site policy.
  • Document security-related observations, patrol activities, and incident details in logs and reports, and communicate notable conditions to the Allied Universal supervisor and site contacts.
