As an unarmed patrol officer at an education location, you will monitor buildings and grounds, conduct routine patrols, support access control, and document security-related activity while providing high-touch customer service to students, staff, and visitors. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access by monitoring entrances, checking identification when required, directing visitors, and assisting with wayfinding and campus rules as applicable.
  • Complete routine reports and activity logs, communicate observations to supervisors and/or site contacts, and assist with crowd management during events or peak traffic periods.
