As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and customer service, document observations, and contribute to a caring, people-first culture. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in line with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas and exterior perimeter, including parking areas, entrances, and corridors, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance issues for reporting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation support, directing foot traffic, and coordinating with clinical staff and local responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, verifying authorization when required, assisting with wayfinding, and reporting suspicious behavior and/or policy violations to site leadership.
  • Complete shift reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to incoming personnel, and follow Allied Universal and site-specific escalation and notification procedures.
