As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control and visitor flow, respond to concerns with calm communication, and deliver a positive customer service experience for students, faculty, staff, and guests. You will succeed through teamwork, integrity, and our agile, reliable, innovative, people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2+ years of security experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational campus location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate campus resources and/or emergency services as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
  • Monitor access points and public areas for unusual activity, help to deter unauthorized entry, and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors with directions and general requests.
  • Document and report security-related observations, incidents, hazards, and maintenance concerns using required logs and/or reporting systems, and communicate timely updates to supervision.
