As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a dynamic university location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support students, faculty, and visitors with strong customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative culture, you will deliver through teamwork and act with integrity every shift.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Respond to security-related incidents, alarms, and calls for service in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken.
  • Monitor entry points and common areas for unusual activity, help to deter unauthorized access, and report maintenance hazards and/or policy concerns through established channels.
  • Support campus operations during events and peak traffic periods by assisting with crowd direction, parking and/or pedestrian flow, and coordination with site contacts as needed.
