Join Allied Universal as an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a university location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, with opportunities to respond to calls, document observations, and communicate clearly while living our agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, integrity-driven approach.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Have customer service experience preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy violations.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, and incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing initial assistance and coordinating with campus personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Control access at assigned posts by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials when required, and documenting visitor activity in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoffs, and communicate notable observations to supervision and site contacts.
