As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and support visitor and contractor check-in. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide clear customer service and communication. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to onsite personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Control access at entrances, gates, and/or guard stations by verifying identification, issuing temporary credentials, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs.
Screen and direct delivery drivers to designated check-in areas, verify shipping and receiving documentation as required, and communicate access decisions to warehouse leadership.
Monitor alarms, access control systems, and/or video surveillance equipment, and report unusual activity per site procedures.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Perform outbound and inbound checks as required, including inspecting trailers, seal numbers, and/or vehicle contents when authorized by site policy.
Document incidents, access denials, and/or policy violations in clear written reports and maintain required daily activity logs.
Assist with crowd control and traffic flow during shift changes and peak shipping and receiving periods.
Support loss prevention efforts by observing for conditions that may help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and/or property damage, and escalating concerns through the chain of command.
