As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a utilities location, you will help manage access control at key entry points by verifying credentials, issuing visitor badges, and monitoring alarms and activity on site systems. You will remain visible, complete routine patrols, and provide clear, customer-focused communication to support daily operations and help to deter security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal post orders, access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Control entry and exit for employees, contractors, and visitors by verifying identification, authorizations, and/or credentials, and directing individuals to designated areas.
• Register visitors and contractors, issue temporary badges as directed, maintain access logs, and communicate access issues to site representatives in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to alarms, access exceptions, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and complete required reports and notifications.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility areas and perimeter to help identify unusual conditions, unsecured doors or gates, and/or policy violations, and report findings per site instructions.
