As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and/or petrochemical location, you will help manage site entry and exit, verify credentials, screen visitors, and maintain clear logs and reports. You will stay visible, conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, and communicate quickly about security-related concerns. You will deliver customer service with a caring culture, teamwork, integrity, and an agile, reliable, innovative approach.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical or petrochemical location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying identification, issuing and/or collecting badges or credentials, and maintaining visitor, contractor, and delivery logs.
  • Screen and route vehicles, shipments, and contractors according to site requirements, reporting irregularities and/or restricted items through the proper channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and escalating to site management and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, checking gates, doors, and restricted areas and reporting maintenance or security-related concerns.
