As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle-area patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support riders and staff with clear communication and customer service. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and always acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transit location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and access concerns.
  • Monitor and help manage access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and/or direct individuals to the appropriate public entry locations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and service calls in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to appropriate personnel and/or public responders.
  • Complete reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and communicate key information to site representatives and Allied Universal supervision.
