As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns, document observations, and support a welcoming campus environment through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
Experience in a primarily driving post is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an education setting.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disturbances, medical situations, and facility concerns.
Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
Control access at designated entrances by observing foot and vehicle traffic, verifying credentials when required, and directing visitors to appropriate locations.
Monitor alarms, doors, gates, and surveillance systems when assigned, and report irregular conditions according to post orders.
Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, and communicate timely updates to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
Provide escorts and/or presence patrols when requested for students, staff, and visitors, consistent with site procedures.
Assist with building checks such as opening and closing rounds, checking for unsecured doors, and reporting maintenance issues observed during patrols.
Support campus events by maintaining a visible presence, managing lines and/or crowd flow, and coordinating with site personnel during elevated activity periods.
Follow Allied Universal and site-specific communication protocols, including radio procedures, escalation guidelines, and coordination with responding emergency services when requested.
