About The Position

As a Security Officer Facility Screening in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener in a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor entry points, screen people and materials, and support smooth daily operations through visible presence, attentive observation, and clear communication. Requirements

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen individuals, personal belongings, packages, and/or vehicles entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders and established screening protocols.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, and document visitor, delivery, and contractor activity to help support controlled entry and exit operations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations and/or unusual activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting potential concerns, operational issues, and/or policy violations for follow-up.
