Security Officer - Experienced Patrol Rover
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Experienced Patrol Rover in Jamaica, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and document observations. You will respond to calls for assistance, support access control and visitor needs, and communicate clearly with staff and the public. Requirements
- Have at least 2+ years of security experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with site representatives and/or public emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions, then report concerns promptly according to post orders and reporting requirements.
- Complete shift documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and activity reports, and pass pertinent information to oncoming personnel.
