As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication. Requirements

  • Have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to riders, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of platforms, stations, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site representatives and/or public responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, help manage crowd flow during peak periods or special events, and assist with de-escalation of conflicts when appropriate.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observed hazards in written reports, and communicate updates to leadership according to post orders and site procedures.
