Security Officer - Entry Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Entry Control in WINCHESTER, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a retail distribution location, you will support access control by greeting visitors, verifying identification and badges, logging entries, and helping manage deliveries and contractor check-ins. You will also conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. Bring a people-first mindset, teamwork, and integrity as you use computers and/or tablets to document activity.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Guard Card/License is preferred.
- Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
- Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
- Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification and authorization, issuing temporary credentials when directed, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs.
- Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic at gates, employee entrances, and/or receiving areas, communicating directions and site rules in a professional manner.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting activity and promptly notifying site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, including checking doors, dock areas, and common spaces for unusual conditions. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
