About The Position

As a Security Officer - Entry Control in Blountstown, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a corrections location, you will support daily operations by screening visitors and staff, verifying identification and credentials, and monitoring entry points for prohibited items. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that may help to deter incidents, and communicate clearly with site personnel to support prompt responses. Bring agility, reliability, and integrity to every interaction.

Requirements

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen people and property at entry points using walk-through metal detectors, handheld wands, and/or X-ray equipment as assigned, and help to deter prohibited items from entering the location.
• Verify identification, visitor authorizations, and access credentials; issue and track visitor passes and/or entry logs per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns, completing required documentation, and escalating issues through the chain of command.
• Conduct routine checks of screening areas and adjacent access points, maintain a professional post presence, and report maintenance and/or equipment issues to site leadership.
