About The Position

As a Security Officer Entry Authorization Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required in accordance with COLA DPSS/DHS requirements.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by following site-specific access control procedures, screening protocols, and emergency response activities as needed.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and credentials, document visitor activity, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas within the location.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues to appropriate personnel when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to observe conditions, report unusual activity, and support security-related operations.
  • Communicate with site contacts, staff, and/or supervisors regarding access requests, disturbances, rule violations, and other security-related concerns in accordance with post orders.
