About The Position

As a Security Officer - Driving Role Patrol in Southfield, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will be a friendly point of contact for tenants, visitors, and staff, using clear communication and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license that meets AU Driver Policy requirements, supported by a caring, integrity-led team.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal post orders, property policies, and security-related procedures, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Respond to alarms, calls for service, suspicious activity, and critical incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site contacts and public responders as needed.
  • Control access where assigned by monitoring entry points, verifying authorization, issuing visitor directions, and maintaining orderly lobby and common-area activity.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation such as patrol logs, incident reports, and inspection checklists, and communicate noteworthy activity to site management and the Allied Universal leadership team.
