As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will complete routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist students, staff, and visitors with directions and support. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and communicate clearly with your team. Requirements

  • A minimum of 6+ months of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to campus visitors, students, faculty, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, parking areas, residence areas if applicable, and the surrounding perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and check authorized credentials where required; help to deter unauthorized entry, theft, and/or damage by maintaining a visible presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with disturbances, medical calls, alarms, and/or hazardous conditions until additional resources arrive.
  • Document patrol activities, incidents, and unusual observations in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
