Job Description As a Security Officer - Distribution Screener - Overnights in Charlotte, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue and track badges, and conduct screening activities such as X-ray inspection to support security-related operations. You will stay visible, communicate clearly with associates and visitors, and document observations and incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, identification checks, and screening requirements at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Conduct screening of employees, visitors, packages, and/or vehicles using approved methods and available screening equipment, reporting prohibited items or policy violations per post orders.
  • Monitor entry points, shipping and receiving areas, and queue lines for irregular activity, helping to deter unauthorized access and/or loss by maintaining a professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting observations, and supporting emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, completing required reports and communicating with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
