About The Position

As a Security Officer - Daytime Distribution Site Screener in Romeoville, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet associates and visitors, support access control, screen incoming and outgoing traffic, and document activity with clear communication. You will perform routine patrols and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents while providing customer-focused service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and vendors entering and exiting the facility using authorized methods such as identification checks, badge verification, package inspections, and magnetometer and/or wand screening as directed by post orders.
  • Control access at entry points and/or checkpoints by verifying appointments, logging arrivals and departures, issuing temporary credentials when authorized, and directing individuals to the appropriate location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events, notifying site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision, and assisting with evacuation or shelter procedures when required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, monitor assigned areas for unusual activity to help to deter policy violations, and complete routine reports and inspections based on site requirements.
