Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Have customer service experience, preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor phones, radios, alarms, cameras, and/or other communication systems from a dispatch post, receiving reports and relaying information to appropriate personnel in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Document incidents, service calls, and unusual activity with clear and accurate reports, logs, and/or dispatch records to help support daily operations at an educational location.
  • Coordinate routine and urgent requests for assistance, helping to direct field personnel to reported incidents, facility needs, and/or critical situations across the campus environment.
  • Support access control and after-hours building activity by communicating with authorized personnel, verifying information, and reporting concerns according to site-specific protocols.
