About The Position

As a Security Officer - Dispatch Desk Operator in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Dispatch Officer supporting a fast-paced tech and telecom location. You will monitor alarms and video, coordinate responses, and communicate clearly with on-site teams to help reduce security-related incidents. This role includes logging activity, assisting with access control and badging, and providing a welcoming customer service experience while maintaining a visible presence and conducting routine patrols as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by following site-specific security-related procedures and policies, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Operate the dispatch center by monitoring alarms, CCTV, access control systems, and other security-related platforms, and triaging calls for service.
  • Receive and relay requests via phone, radio, and/or electronic systems, coordinating responses and communicating clear directions to on-site officers and/or mobile patrol units.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to client contacts, management, and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Maintain accurate logs and incident documentation, including time-stamped event entries, notifications made, and follow-up actions, supporting shift briefings and continuity of operations.
