Job Description As a Security Officer - Federal Facility Screener in Kailua Kona, HI , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener supporting a government courthouse environment. You will help manage access points, greet visitors, verify credentials, and conduct screening with magnetometers and X-ray equipment, while documenting and communicating security-related concerns. You will remain visible, perform routine rounds as assigned, and deliver professional customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid is preferred.
  • X-Ray Screening Experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Guard Card/License is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service while conducting access control and screening at a government court location, including greeting visitors, giving directions, and supporting orderly entry.
  • Operate walk-through metal detectors, handheld wands, and X-ray screening equipment per site-specific policies, and follow procedures for prohibited items and secondary screening.
  • Verify identification and/or credentials as required, issue visitor passes when authorized, and maintain entry logs and screening documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct periodic checks of screening areas, entry points, and nearby public spaces to help to deter unauthorized access and support a professional environment.
