Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Entry Screener in New Port Richey, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Screener at a government location, where you will greet visitors, manage entry screening, check credentials, monitor access points, and communicate concerns to site leadership and public partners. You will remain highly visible, conduct routine security-related checks, and deliver professional customer service in a fast-paced public setting. You will support a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, and guided by integrity.

Requirements

  • Have 2+ years' law enforcement/military police/corrections experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A Guard Card/License is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and personnel by following site-specific screening procedures, policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen individuals and items entering the facility using authorized screening equipment and methods, verify identification and/or credentials, and control access in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting concerns promptly and coordinating with site representatives as directed.
  • Complete required activity logs and incident reports, document screening results as required, and maintain chain of custody for prohibited or restricted items per policy.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols and/or checks around the facility entrance areas and perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
