About The Position
As a Security Officer - Corporate Entry Screener in West Chester, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at an education location, you will be a welcoming first point of contact, helping manage access and supporting a smooth flow of students, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine screening, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, communicate clearly, and document observations. Backed by a caring, agile team, you will deliver service with integrity, reliability, and innovative problem solving.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
- Screen people entering the facility by following entry protocols, checking identification, issuing visitor passes, and directing visitors to appropriate areas.
- Conduct bag and/or package inspections and use screening equipment as trained, documenting prohibited items and following escalation procedures when needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site staff and contacting appropriate responders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
