As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine foot rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support riders and staff with clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or transit riders by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned public transportation facilities and surrounding areas, including entrances, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify maintenance or policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, supporting first responders, and/or helping direct pedestrian flow as needed.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, verify identification and/or credentials when required by site policy, and help to maintain orderly entry, exit, and queuing.
  • Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate updates to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
