As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain orderly access by screening visitors, verifying credentials, and supporting entry procedures while providing professional customer service. You will conduct routine patrols and maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, document observations, and communicate concerns to site leadership. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors at a government location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen and direct individuals entering the facility by confirming authorization, checking identification, issuing visitor credentials when required, and supporting orderly lobby and waiting area operations.
  • Monitor entry points and public areas through visual observation and available systems, reporting unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting assistance from supervisors and/or public authorities as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports and maintain required logs for access activity, incidents, and observations, communicating updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
