As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will greet visitors, verify credentials, issue and manage badges, and help maintain organized entry and exit procedures. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document activities while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Access Control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Manage access control operations by verifying identification, processing sign-in and/or badging, controlling entry and exit points, and documenting access activity per post orders.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other access control systems; report irregular activity and follow escalation procedures as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site personnel and/or public agency partners as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, interior areas, and perimeter areas; observe and report conditions that may impact operations.
