As an Access Control Officer at a busy healthcare location, you will help monitor assigned areas and manage entry points by verifying credentials, greeting staff and visitors, and providing clear directions. You will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and document activity with strong attention to detail. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at assigned entry points by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, managing sign-in and/or sign-out logs, and directing authorized individuals to the proper location.
  • Monitor access control systems, cameras, and alarm notifications as assigned, and report irregular activity, maintenance needs, and/or policy concerns through the required communication channels.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical facility protocols such as restricted-area access, missing person alerts, and/or disruptive behavior notifications.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility interior, exterior, and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
