About The Position

As a Security Officer Badge Check Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, screening entry points, and following established security-related policies for a government location.
  • Monitor entrances and restricted areas, verify identification and/or credentials, maintain visitor logs, and help to control access to authorized areas in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, policy violations, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or appropriate public agency contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns in a timely manner.
  • Support intake, visitation, and movement control processes as directed by site procedures, while documenting daily activities, observations, and/or incidents with professionalism and attention to detail.
