Job Description As a Security Officer - Automotive Gate Driver in Gastonia, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Auto, and more. As an Access Control Officer at an automotive location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, support badge issuance, and document security-related activity while providing standout customer service. You will also conduct routine patrols to help to deter incidents, assist employees and visitors with directions and access questions, and communicate clearly with site leadership. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. Allied Universal is agile, reliable, innovative, and people first.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, badge requirements, and security-related policies at an automotive manufacturing location.
- Control entry and exit at gates and/or lobby posts by verifying identification, authorizing visitors, issuing temporary credentials, and maintaining accurate logs for people and vehicle traffic.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems; respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify appropriate contacts per post orders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify maintenance, hazard, and policy concerns; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Support emergency response activities by assisting with evacuations, traffic control, and incident documentation, and completing detailed written reports for all notable events.
