Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Vehicle Patrol Driver in Raleigh, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine mobile and on-foot patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to reports with calm, clear communication. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a valid driver’s license meeting AU Driver Policy requirements. You will support a caring culture built on integrity, teamwork, and reliable service.

Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Perform armed patrol duties in accordance with Allied Universal post orders, applicable laws, and site policies, helping to deter prohibited activity through professional presence.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting staff with disturbances, medical calls, and facility alarms as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, and controlled access points; working environments and conditions may vary by post assignment.
  • Complete required reports and logs such as incident reports, shift activity reports, and chain-of-custody documentation, and communicate observations to site representatives and Allied Universal supervision.
