About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Vehicle Driver in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. You will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, respond to calls for service, and communicate clearly with site teams and visitors. This is an armed and driving post, where you will use your training, teamwork, and integrity to deliver reliable, people-first service while adapting quickly to changing needs.

Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter routes; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and security-related systems such as cameras and alarms, and assist with access control processes including visitor management and identification checks per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document actions taken and notify appropriate contacts as required.
  • Write clear incident reports and activity logs, communicate observations to Allied Universal management and/or the site contact, and help to deter unauthorized activity through a visible presence.
